A warm season perennial sod forming grass introduced form Africa. Grows 4" - 1 ft. tall, dark bluish-green sod grass with both rhizomes and stolons that take root at nodes. The internodes are flattened. The ligule is a conspicuous ring of white hairs. The inflorescence has 3-6 purple spikes which resemble a bird's foot.
