Cool season grass forms a thick sod and pasture. Can be used for pasture or cut for hay. Matures a little later in the summer than other cool season forages such as orchardgrass and tall fescue. Hay yields are slightly lower as only one cutting is generally achieved. However, the highly developed root system allows for resistance to temperature extremes and drought. Dependable grass that has high forage quality and works best in a rotational grazing system. Do not cut under 4 inches or regrowth will be compromised.
